Privacy Policy

Effective October 24, 2026

Jesus People SF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit ministry. This page explains, in plain language, what actually happens to your information when you visit jesuspeoplesf.com. The short version: we count visits with Google Analytics, Cloudflare protects the site, and we don’t sell your information.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-J5JDXBGXMY) with Google Signals, advertising features and Google Ads links turned off. When a page loads, it records things like:

  • the page you viewed, the page that sent you here, and roughly how long you stayed;
  • your browser, device type, operating system, screen size and language;
  • your approximate location (country, region or city), which Google works out from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses;
  • some actions on the page, such as scrolling, clicks on links to other sites and file downloads.

It sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_J5JDXBGXMY. They hold a random ID so repeat visits can be counted, and they last up to two years. We use the reports only to understand how the site is used, not for advertising, and we don’t try to identify individual visitors. Our Google Analytics data-retention setting is two months. This setting limits how long Google keeps visitor-level and event-level data for our account. Summary reports (totals such as page views) aren’t affected by this setting and are kept longer.

To opt out: install Google’s Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, block or clear cookies for jesuspeoplesf.com in your browser settings, or use a content blocker or private-browsing mode that blocks analytics. The site works the same either way. More: how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

Cloudflare

This site is hosted and protected by Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and block attacks and abuse, and it may receive network-error reports from your browser. It adds a small script that checks for automated bots, and it may set short-lived security cookies (such as __cf_bm or cf_clearance) or occasionally show a browser check. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a small script Cloudflare adds to our pages to count visits and measure how quickly pages load. It doesn’t use cookies or other browser storage, and Cloudflare says it doesn’t track people across other websites. It records which page you visited, the site that sent you here, your browser, operating system, device type and country.

Pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, so Google’s font servers receive your IP address and browser details when the fonts download.

Pastoral appointments

The pastoral office hours page embeds Google Calendar’s appointment booking, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when that page loads. If you book a time, the details you enter (such as your name and email address) go to Google Calendar and to us so we can meet with you. Google’s privacy policy applies to that booking tool. We treat what you share in a pastoral conversation as confidential. The exceptions are when the law requires us to report (for example, suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult) or when someone’s safety is at immediate risk. Please keep private details out of the booking form, since it is stored by Google, and share them in the meeting instead.

Donations

We don’t take payments on this site. The donate page sends you to outside services that process your gift: Stripe (card payments), Strike (bitcoin), Ko-fi (the “Buy Me A Coffee” button) and YouTube. Your payment details go to those services, not to us. We receive only the information each service gives us to process your gift and send you a receipt, and we use it only for that and for the donation records a non-profit must keep. We keep donation records for as long as tax law requires (generally up to seven years). Each service has its own privacy policy: Stripe, Strike, Ko-fi and YouTube (Google).

Links to other sites

We link to other services that have their own privacy policies, including Amazon (books), YouTube, Substack (our newsletter, The Apocalypse Times), Zeno.fm (Jesus People Radio), Redbubble (merch), Charity Navigator, Blue Letter Bible and our ministry sites apocalypse.press and opendeadsea.org. This site itself doesn’t sell anything, so Amazon and Redbubble handle those purchases under their own privacy policies, and we never receive your payment or card details. Our Amazon links are Amazon Associates affiliate links (tag paradisereg01-20). As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. When you click one of these links, Amazon may set or read its own cookies in your browser to credit the referral, and Amazon (and advertisers on Amazon) may collect information directly from you under Amazon’s Privacy Notice. We don’t receive your name or any details that identify you; Amazon only reports which items were ordered through our links. You can manage Amazon’s cookies and ad choices in your Amazon settings or browser.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising.
  • We don’t run advertising or ad-tracking on this site.
  • Apart from Google (Analytics, Fonts and Calendar booking) and Cloudflare as described above, we don’t allow other companies to collect personal information about your activity on this site over time and across other websites.
  • We don’t have public user accounts, comments or sign-up forms here.
  • The only mailing list is our newsletter, The Apocalypse Times, which is run on Substack. If you subscribe, Substack handles your email address under its own privacy policy.
  • This site isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has sent us personal information, email us and we’ll delete it.

We don’t currently respond to “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals. The opt-out steps above work regardless.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and its effective date. To ask what information we have about you, or to ask us to correct or delete it, email nate@jesuspeoplesf.com. We aim to reply within 30 days. Because we don’t identify visitors in Google Analytics, we usually hold nothing tied to you except donation records, appointment bookings and emails you send us.

This site is run from the United States, and information about your visit is processed there.
